ButtonholesButtonholes have been used in this sample to form tiny frames, two buttonholes are stitched in the form of a cross and pulled back to reveal a fragment of the fabric behind. |

EyeletsIn this sample, a fabric has been made by painting polyester with fabric paints using lace as a stencil. The lace has then been reapplied to the fabric using various automatic patterns and eyelets. |

Changing Stitch LengthThis sample was stitched onto a piece of coloured tissue paper bonded onto Vilene. Automatic pattern (418) was stitched over the top in threads to match the paper, where a matching thread was not available, the stitch length was changed to give a different intensity of colour |

Decorative PatternsThis sample was stitched using 2 programs and 4 different coloured threads. Layering the threads in different orders produces different results. The fabric was created with strips of painted cotton Broderie Anglaise lace on a painted background. |
