These same drawings could be used over and over using a variety of background fabrics at very little outlay. The same technique could also be used for different motifs.

Although the texture of the felt background was the most successful, the additional time to construct the felt had to be taken into consideration.

The silk noil was obviously the easiest as it could be purchased by the metre, the silk paper was both fragile and had to be made up, making it the least successful of the three backgrounds.

The outer cream background also took some time to construct, but as with the coloured mount, it could be replaced with something simpler.

All in all, I felt that this technique could be developed much further depending on a customers preferences.

The materials for these panels cost £55.00 and the labour was 86 hours.
